At approximately 7:00am this morning, a Middle School East student was approached by a male with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing blue clothes and a red baseball cap. He was driving a brown, oversized pick-up truck with a yellow sign on the side. The student, out of concern, ran to the school to report the incident to the principal and the Milford Police Department.
I am asking for the help of the entire Milford community. Along with the Milford Police Department, our bus drivers, and your neighbors and community members, it is important for everyone to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity directly to the authorities. If you see a vehicle matching the above description, please write down the license plate, if possible, and immediately call 911.
In light of this morning’s incident, I have asked each of the schools to conduct assemblies today to remind the students of the importance of not interacting with strangers and what to do if they are approached by a person unknown to them.
